N52 Alternator Pulley 56mm - 15% Underdrive - Overdrive Clutch Elimination - Lightweight

Benefits:

• Reduces alternator RPM by up to 15% – ideal for cars running a lower ratio differential (e.g. 3.73 in place of 3.23), or engines that regularly spend time at the upper end of the tachometer.  At 15% reduction, the alternator should still deliver typical electrical loads at idle.

• Eliminates the annoying “vacuum cleaner motor” noise produced by the factory pulley at high RPM (videos available upon request).

• Weighs only 95g, compared with approximately 370 g for the factory decoupling pulley – a reduction of roughly 75% in rotating mass and significantly reduced rotational inertia.

• CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum for a lightweight, strong and durable design with no internal clutch mechanism.

• Works with the factory-length serpentine belt (6PK1990 / 6PK1995) – no special belt required.

• Available for both Bosch and Valeo alternators.

Installation Overview;

This is the 'simple' pulley style which sacrifices ease of installation for weight and cost.  It requires a few special tools the average DIYer may not have, in addition to the specialty decoupling pulley removal tool set.  An 'Easy Install' variant will be available in the coming weeks which requires only the 'decoupling pulley removal tool set' but has an increased weight of 133.5g.
